Hawaii Wave Dual-Use Incubator
Fostering innovation in technologies with both civilian and defense applications in Hawaii.
Program Description
The Hawaiʻi Wave Dual-Use Incubation Program, operated by the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research (PICHTR) and funded by the Hawaiʻi Technology Development Corporation (HTDC) under DBEDT, is an intensive initiative designed for innovators developing dual-use technologies with both commercial and national security applications. The program connects participants with mentors, industry experts, government agencies, and strategic partners.
To bolster Hawaiʻi’s innovation economy and scale commercial operations, participants undergo rigorous customer discovery and receive guidance on government-market readiness and federal procurement. The curriculum helps founders validate their business models and prepare their technologies for broader adoption across PICHTR’s local and international network. Ultimately, the initiative builds on PICHTR’s legacy of connecting entrepreneurs with essential resources to transform high-tech concepts into practical solutions for resilience, environmental monitoring, and public safety.
